Course Aim
This course provides students with the skills and knowledge to limit pollution and other health and safety risks when working on board a vessel. The course allows students to build their communication skills as applicable to shipboard duties and to relate well to other vessel staff including following safe working practices. Students achieve an STCW Personal Safety & Social Responsibility Certificate, and students will be deemed to be competent in accordance with the amended provisions of Regulation VI/I (Section A-VI/1-4) of the International convention on Standards of Training Certification and Watch-keeping for Seafarers (STCW) 1978.
